Durco Tubular Backwash Filter System Modes

Durco Tubular Backwash Filter Systems are designed for continuous operation with high flow rates in applications with low solids loadings. These systems can operate in2 different Backwash Modes depending upon your process requirements:

Internal Backwash Filtration
	Internal backwashing systems use the system's filtrate to clean the tubular filter media. Internal Backwash Mode should be considered when the process stream is: Of sufficient flow and pressure to ensure an adequate backwash Inexpensive and does not create a disposal problem
External Backwash Filtration
	External backwashing systems use a clean, secondary stream (such as plant water) supplied by an additional header to clean the tubular filter media. External Backwash Mode should be considered when the process stream is: Not of sufficient flow and pressure to ensure adequate internal backwash Valuable, or if it creates a disposal problem

Durco Backwash Conservation Systems

Durco Tubular Filter models are available with an optionalBackwash Conservation System. The Backwash Conservation System enables you to recover a significant portion of the process liquid contained in the tubular filter units that is normally consumed during backwashing. The Backwash Conservation System should be considered when the process stream is either valuable or creates a disposal problem.

Durco Tubular Filters can be supplied withAutomatic Backwash Systems. These self cleaning filter systems permit unattended continuous filter operation. Automatic Backwashing is ideal for filters in remote locations or when it is inconvenient to provide operator attention. It assures backwash self cleaning of the tubular filters only when necessary. The standard automatic backwash filter control package has a NEMA 4X rating. Other NEMA ratings are available.
